A quick parent-report checklist to screen for sensory processing differences in children, covering touch, sound, movement, taste, and visual responses.

This is a screening tool, not a medical diagnosis. Always consult a qualified occupational therapist.

1. Dislikes being hugged, touched, or dressed

2. Refuses certain fabrics, tags, or seams on clothes

3. Avoids messy play (sand, paint, glue, dough)

4. Covers ears at loud or unexpected sounds

5. Easily distracted by background noise

6. Seems not to hear when spoken to directly

7. Afraid of swings, slides, or feet leaving the ground

8. Craves spinning, jumping, or crashing into things

9. Uses too much or too little force with toys and people

10. Bumps into furniture, walls, or other children

11. Very picky with food textures or gags easily

12. Chews on clothing, pencils, or non-food items

13. Bothered by bright lights, sunlight, or fluorescent lights

14. Has meltdowns in busy places (malls, playgrounds, supermarkets)

15. Struggles to calm down after being upset or excited
